Vids Auto: the complete guide

Queue prompts into Google Vids — and have it build your timeline too.

Vids Auto is a tab in the Erasio side panel. It types your prompts into Google Vids one after another and saves each clip when it is ready. It can also do something the other two tabs cannot: drop every finished clip straight into your Vids document as its own scene. This guide starts from scratch and assumes no experience with automation.

An Erasio account, signed in

A batch spends credits, so it needs to know who you are.

Start here — four steps

The whole thing, before any detail. If these four steps make sense you can already use Vids Auto; everything below is for when you want more control.

Open the tab

Click the Erasio icon, then Vids Auto. A short walkthrough runs the first time.

Open your Vids project

If you have browsed away, the panel says so and offers a button to switch back.

Paste your prompts

One per block, blank line between. Pick a mode from the dropdown.

Press Run

A progress window opens and works through the list. Leave that tab open.

Chrome will say it “started debugging this browser”. That is normal.A yellow bar appears across the top of the Google tab for as long as a batch is running. It is not an error and nothing is wrong. It is Chrome being honest: Erasio is driving the page with real clicks and real keystrokes rather than faking them, which is exactly what keeps Google from refusing the run. The bar disappears by itself when the batch ends.

Writing your prompts

If you read only one section of this page, read this one. It is the thing everybody gets wrong the first time, and it takes ten seconds to get right.

The one rule: a blank line starts a new prompt

Everything else on this page is optional. This is not. Erasio splits your text wherever it finds an empty line — so three blocks separated by blank lines are three prompts, and the same three blocks typed without blank lines are one very long prompt.

Already have a list?Use the upload buttons under the prompt box. A .txt file is split the same way the box is; a spreadsheet gives you one prompt per row, and Erasio asks which column to read.
Start smallRun two or three prompts before you queue thirty. It costs almost nothing and it tells you whether your settings are right.

Four of these will look familiar from the other tabs. The fifth is unique to Vids Auto.

Text to Video

Start here if you are not sure.

You describe the video in words. Reference pictures are optional.

Frame to Video

Takes a still picture and adds motion to it.

Ingredients to Video

Builds a scene from the pictures you supply.

Text to Image

Generates still pictures from written descriptions.

Text to Voice

Only in this tab. Good for narrating a script.

Turns written lines into spoken audio — one file per prompt.

Stay on your Vids tab

Vids Auto drives the real page, so it needs that page in front of you.

  • If you browse away, the panel covers the middle of itself and offers a button to switch back.
  • The tabs above and the buttons below stay usable, so a batch already running is always stoppable.
  • You can write prompts and change settings with no Vids tab open. Only Run needs one.

Decide about the watermark

The chips at the top of Control, on the video modes.

  • Off keeps Google’s own clip. Sparkle and Veo are two different marks — pick the one your clip actually carries.
  • If removal fails, or you run out of credits part way through, the clip is still saved. You get Google’s copy with its watermark rather than nothing at all.
  • Still pictures and voiceovers carry no mark, so the chips do not appear on those modes.

Add a picture, if you have one

Reference pictures work a little differently here, and it is worth knowing why.

  • Google Vids attaches exactly one picture to a prompt. That is the page’s limit, not Erasio’s.
  • So upload several, then write the filename — presenter.png — inside whichever prompt should get it.
  • Drop files onto the upload area, click to browse, or paste a screenshot straight in.

Write or import your prompts

Same box, same rule, in every tab.

  • One idea per block, blank line between each. Ten blocks means ten clips.
  • “Upload .txt” splits a text file the same way the box does.
  • “Upload .xlsx / .csv” takes one prompt per row.

Decide whether Erasio builds your timeline

This is the setting that makes Vids Auto different, and the one to understand before switching on.

  • “Add each video to the timeline” creates a new scene in your Vids document for every generated clip and places the clip inside it.
  • Ten prompts becomes ten scenes, in order, without you dragging anything.
  • It applies to video modes only.
  • If watermark removal is on, the clean copy is the one inserted — the same file you download, cleaned and charged once rather than twice.
This is the only setting in any of the three tabs that edits your actual document. Nothing else here changes your project. Try it on a test project first if that makes you more comfortable.

Press Run and let it work

The progress window opens and names every stage as it happens.

  • Submitting, Waiting to start, Generating, Removing watermark, Saving, Adding to timeline.
  • Between prompts it tells you how long until the next one starts, so a pause never looks like a stall.
  • Hide the window and bring it back with Progress. Stop is always available.
  • Keep the Vids tab open until it finishes.

Every setting, in plain English

Most of these you will never touch — the defaults are chosen to work. Anything marked “Leave this alone” is safe to ignore until something specific goes wrong.

One per prompt — that is Google’s limit, not a setting you can raise.

Reference images per prompt

Fixed at one. Shown so you know it is deliberate.

When it matters: With several uploaded, write a filename in the prompt to choose which one it gets.

Auto-add character images

Attaches pictures whose filename matches a name in the prompt.

Your document

The part that writes into your Vids project.

Add each video to the timeline

Creates a scene per clip and places the clip in it.

When it matters: Video modes only. This is the one setting here that edits your document — everything else only produces files.

Saving

What you end up with in your Downloads folder.

Auto download quality

How large each saved file is. Audio saves as the original MP3.

Auto change file name

Leave this alone

Numbers each file so a batch sorts in order.

Save as one ZIP

One archive at the end instead of a download per clip.

When it matters: Nothing appears in your Downloads folder until the batch ends.

Pacing

What to change if Vids starts throttling you.

Random delay

A random wait between prompts, in seconds.

When it matters: Raise both numbers if Vids starts throttling.

Concurrent prompts

Leave this alone

How many prompts may be waiting to be downloaded at once.

Max retries on failure

How many times a failed prompt is tried again.

If a batch runs you out of credits it stops and tells you which prompt it stopped on and how many credits that prompt needed — it will not leave a progress bar frozen with no explanation. Prompts that already finished are not re-charged when you run the rest.

If something goes wrong

Find your symptom in the left column. Almost everything here is a two-minute fix.

What you see

Clips generated, but nothing was added to my timeline.

Why

“Add each video to the timeline” is off, or you were on an image or voice mode.

Fix

Turn it on in Settings. It applies to video modes only.

What you see

Scenes were added but the clips still have watermarks.

Why

Watermark removal is off, so Google’s own copy was inserted.

Fix

Switch removal on at the top of Control. The clean copy is then the one inserted, and it is charged once, not twice.

What you see

The panel says you have left Google Vids.

Why

You browsed away in that tab, or switched to a tab on another site.

Fix

Use the button in the panel to switch back. Your prompts and settings are untouched.

What you see

The Run button is greyed out.

Why

Either there are no prompts in the box, or the Google page it needs is not open.

Fix

Check the prompt counter under the box, and open the Google tab. The panel tells you which one is missing.

What you see

The batch stops after the first file, with a “Save as” window open.

Why

Chrome is set to ask where to put every download.

Fix

Open chrome://settings/downloads and switch off “Ask where to save each file before downloading”.

What you see

The batch stopped on its own, part way through.

Why

Usually the Google tab was closed or navigated away. Sometimes credits ran out.

Fix

Erasio says which it was. Reopen the tab and run the remaining prompts — or top up, then re-run only what is left.

What you see

Every single prompt is failing, and it worked yesterday.

Why

Google reshipped the page and the buttons moved.

Fix

Open Settings, find the compatibility card at the bottom, and press Refresh now. That pulls the current button locations.

What you see

Files are saving, but the watermark is still on them.

Why

Either removal is switched off, or the wrong engine is selected, or the quality is one Erasio cannot intercept.

Fix

Check the watermark chips at the top of Control, try the other engine, and see the quality note in Settings.

Still stuck?Open the Logs section in the panel — almost every failure explains itself there. If it does not, send us the log and we will look at it.

The words we use

Prompt

One instruction you would normally type into Google yourself — one description, one question, one idea.

Batch

A whole list of prompts run one after another without you sitting there. That is the entire point of these three tabs.

Credit

What one generation costs. Your Erasio credits are shared — the same balance works on this website and in the extension.

Watermark engine

Which mark Erasio should look for. Sparkle and Veo are two different marks; picking the wrong one leaves it in place.

Queue

The list of prompts waiting their turn, and the window that shows you how far through it is.

Selectors

How Erasio finds the buttons on Google’s page. Google moves them without warning, which is why there is a Refresh button for these.
